Who Is BTS? A Look Inside the Beautiful Table Settings Community
Share
If you have ever searched for inspiration on how to set a beautiful table, you may have come across the initials “BTS.” In this case, BTS does not mean a music group or a behind-the-scenes moment. It stands for Beautiful Table Settings, a Facebook community devoted to the art, joy, and tradition of creating welcoming tables.
Beautiful Table Settings was founded in September 2019 by May Ridolphi Eason of Wetumpka, Alabama. What began as a place for people who love china, crystal, silver, linens, flowers, and creative place settings quickly grew into a large online gathering space for table-setting enthusiasts around the world, now with 263,700 members. Members share photographs of their tables, ask questions, offer encouragement, and celebrate the simple but meaningful act of making a table feel special.
More Than Pretty Plates
At first glance, BTS may look like a group about dishes. And yes, there are plenty of dishes: heirloom china, thrifted treasures, antique silver, crystal goblets, seasonal centerpieces, embroidered linens, and carefully folded napkins. But the heart of BTS is much deeper than a collection of pretty things.
The group celebrates hospitality. It reminds people that setting a table is not only about formality or perfection; it is about intention. A beautiful table can honor family memories, mark a holiday, brighten an ordinary Tuesday dinner, or make guests feel cared for before the first bite is served.
A Positive Corner of the Internet
One reason BTS has become so beloved is its culture. The community is intentionally kept positive, creative, and welcoming. Rather than becoming another online space filled with debate or negativity, BTS focuses on beauty, encouragement, and shared inspiration. Members post tablescapes for holidays, birthdays, brunches, teas, family dinners, themed gatherings, and sometimes simply because they felt like creating something lovely.
That spirit is part of what makes the group stand out. People join not only to learn how to pair china patterns or arrange flowers, but also to be part of a community where creativity is noticed and kindness is expected.
Why BTS Grew So Quickly
Although Beautiful Table Settings began shortly before the pandemic, its growth accelerated when people were spending more time at home. Dining rooms that had gone quiet became creative outlets. Cabinets full of inherited or collected pieces were opened again. People who missed gathering found comfort in styling tables and sharing them with others online.
For many members, BTS became a place to connect when connection felt limited. A table set for one, two, or a future gathering could still tell a story. It could reflect hope, memory, celebration, or simply the joy of using what had been tucked away for years.
The BTS Bash: Bringing the Online Community Together
As the online community grew, members wanted to meet in person. That desire led to the Beautiful Table Settings Bash, first associated with Wetumpka, Alabama, and later expanded through gatherings such as the Vicksburg Bash. These events included table-setting demonstrations, floral design, napkin-folding ideas, vendors, speakers, meals, and opportunities for members to meet the people behind the posts they had admired online. At the April 2026 Wetumpka Bash, featured speakers included Melissa Bradly Bishop of Bradly Acres Design, a published author and curator of style and entertaining. Jane and Lizzee was a vendor at both the Wetumpka Bash and the Vicksburg Bash in 2026, and Jane and Lizzee is so excited to be the exclusive and official provider of BTS branded items. Those who love BTS will want to add these cherished branded items to their collections, with pieces designed to be used, enjoyed, and celebrated at the table.
The Bash events show how powerful a niche community can become. What started as a Facebook group about table settings has brought members together beyond the screen, supported host communities, encouraged local shopping and tourism, and turned online friendships into real-life fellowship.
What Readers Can Learn from BTS
Whether you own fine china or paper plates, BTS offers an important reminder: beauty at the table is not reserved for special occasions or expensive collections. A thoughtful place setting can be created with family dishes, estate sale finds, thrifted glassware, garden flowers, seasonal napkins, monogram pieces created specifically for you or everyday pieces arranged with care.
The group encourages people to use what they have, enjoy what they love, and make everyday moments feel a little more meaningful. It also helps preserve traditions that might otherwise fade: caring for silver, identifying china patterns, folding cloth napkins, styling centerpieces, and passing down stories connected to beloved pieces.
Why BTS Matters
In a world that often moves quickly, BTS slows things down. It invites people to notice details: the curve of a teacup handle, the sparkle of crystal, the story behind a grandmother’s platter, the color of flowers against a favorite tablecloth. These details may seem small, but they are part of how people create warmth, memory, and belonging in their homes.
Beautiful Table Settings is not just about tables. It is about gathering, generosity, creativity, and the belief that making something beautiful for yourself or others is worthwhile. For readers who love homemaking, hosting, collecting, thrifting, decorating, or preserving family traditions, BTS is a community worth knowing.
In Short
BTS, or Beautiful Table Settings, is a global Facebook community founded by May Eason of Wetumpka, Alabama, for people who love creating and sharing beautiful tables. It has grown from a personal passion project into a large, active, and uplifting community centered on hospitality, tradition, and the joy of making ordinary moments feel special.
For anyone wondering who BTS is, the answer is simple: BTS is a group of people who believe a table can be more than a place to eat. It can be a place to remember, welcome, celebrate, and connect. I am forever thankful for the friendships formed with BTS members. BTS reminds me that fellowship and beautiful tables never go out of style. Maree and I are so excited Jane and Lizzee will be sharing BTS products with the world.
