Bug Them Dishes: Celebrate Insect Week 2026 with Our Fly and Roach Dinnerware
Share
Insect Week 2026 takes place June 22–28, and we are marking the occasion in a delightfully unexpected way: with tableware that puts bugs right where they belong—at the center of the conversation.
Our Bug Them Dishes feature striking artwork of flies and roaches across dinner plates, salad plates, bread and butter plates, and coordinating accessory pieces. These unforgettable pieces are part of the Bon Monge Collection, meaning “The Good Eat.”
Whether your style leans whimsical, gothic, scientific, or simply wonderfully unusual, these pieces are made for anyone who enjoys a table setting with personality. The detailed insect artwork adds a surprising twist to everyday dining and makes each place setting feel like a curated conversation piece.
They are also as practical as they are memorable. The plates are dishwasher and microwave safe, made of restaurant-quality porcelain, and feature reinforced rims for added durability. Designed to stand up to frequent use, they are a natural fit for busy homes, cafés, restaurants, and other high-volume settings. Every piece is decorated and kiln fired in our studio in New Iberia, Louisiana, giving the collection a handcrafted studio touch.
The Story Behind the Collection
The idea for this collection began at dinner one day with my husband, Eric. He said, “You need to put a roach on a plate. How funny would that be?” Maree took his playful suggestion seriously, turning that offhand comment into a full dinnerware collection that is bold, unexpected, and made to get people talking.
